Strategic Sourcing Specialist

SUMMARY Key member of the Waltco Sourcing team whose primary responsibilities include materials sourcing, new supplier development, and materials costing. Background in manufacturing and operations, sourcing, lean and ISO is required, specifically in the application of steel and metal fabrication pricing/demand for use in the Hydraulic Lift Gate industry. Experience in steel fabrication and welding and/or steel service center is preferred. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Becomes acquainted and further develops relationships with current supply partners to improve daily performance at the lowest cost. Implements and oversees supplier agreements Seek and develop new potential supplier partners that help organization meet defined objectives to ensure primary and secondary suppliers are qualified Identify cost savings opportunities, and drive execution of assigned sourcing projects from start to finish within established timeline Analyze supplier capability/capacity vs requirements to determine most suitable suppliers for RFQ Implement and maintain lean sourcing initiatives as required, including JIT delivery, to maximize inventory turn-over and maintain 100% on-time delivery Analyzes engineering specifications and customer expectations to help in determining sourcing requirements Monitors and manages supplier on-time delivery and quality performance to assure capability to meet on-time production schedules Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepares market analysis reports Keep abreast of market trends and new materials or processes, especially for steel and metal fabricated components  Coordinates processes to insure all purchased materials meet engineering specifications, quality system requirements, cost expectations, inventory requirements, and delivery expectations. Makes recommendations to purchasing systems modifications and enhancements Assists in defining acceptable inventory levels and managing inventories to minimum levels while maximizing inventory turn rates Monitor prepared reports for Purchase Price Variance, Inventory Levels, Inventory Turns, Key Supplier Metrics, Quality, and On-Time Delivery Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages/delays and non-conforming product, to not only ensure that production is up and running with minimal downtime, but also determine the root cause and implement a corrective action to eliminate the cause Full knowledge of MRP Purchasing related modules (LN experiencepreferred) Provides leadership, planning and follow up to assure accomplishment of Business Plan objectives Assists with physical inventories and decision making regarding disposition of excess and/or obsolete materials including scrap sales EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or related field 5+ years of materials sourcing management experience in a manufacturing environment 5+ years of direct experience in automated MRP/ERP and/or Kanban systems managing inventory control.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
